~ Useful Tools for Creative Contact ~

Contact Improvisation Workshop

Spine Mapping: Mobilization and Stabilization in CI

The art and discipline of Contact Improvisation can be supported with specific skills that make use of the spine for both support and mobility. In this class we'll focus on the shape-shifting bony architecture of the body to generate three-dimensional, dynamic dancing. We'll apply principles from functional anatomy and biomechanics, while developing a deeper sense of our own bodies. This class combines Axis Syllabus, Contact Improvisation and Contemporary Dance.

Part of the New Years Weekend Jam @ The Finnish Hall in Berkeley, CA.
