Workshop: Cross-Functional Contact Impro @ Copenhagen

  • Dansekapellet Bispebjerg Torv 1, 2400 København, Denmark (map)

Disability and cross-functional realities can be powerful tools for creative dance-making, even for those without disabilities. From 2009-2015, Sebastian was part of a professional contemporary dance company in California (AXIS Dance Co) that centered disabled dancers alongside non-disabled dancers. At the time, Contact Improvisation was used regularly to develop skill and generate exciting choreography within the dance studio.

In this workshop with FIMD, Sebastian will present on approaches to physically integrated dance that open creative pathways for movement for all.

We will talk about and explore creative tools while deepening our own personal movement, style, and somatic approaches to dancing together.
